Complement C1q tumor necrosis factor-related protein 5 (CTRP5), Uniprot # Q9BXJ0, is a member of the CTRP family of proteins that share structural and functional similarity to adiponectin. CTRP5 is an important molecule in metabolism regulation and is expressed in a variety of tissues such as spleen, testis, and adipose. Elevated circulating levels have been observed in obesity associated diabetes in animal models.
